Tiffany Abitbol

Tiffany is an Assistant Professor at EPFL, where she heads the Sustainable Materials Laboratory within the Institute of Materials in the School of Engineering. Prior to joining EPFL in 2022, she worked as a Research Scientist at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from McGill University, where Professor Derek Gray supervised her. Her research group at EPFL focuses on bionanocomposites based on renewable biomass, with a fundamental interest in self-assembly and growth-driven assembly by microorganisms. Her position is an endowed chair co-funded by BASF SE, Logitech, Nestlé, and SIG Services AG.
